Macaronesia Swim, the swimwear brand born on the beaches of Lanzarote that combines style and sustainability in equal parts, stood out yesterday at Gran Canaria Swim Week. Inspired by the vibrant environment of the Canary Islands, this brand captures the essence of life by the sea, reflected in its colourful designs, tropical prints and environmentally friendly fabrics. Behind this proposal is Visi González, a Canarian designer committed to sharing her vision of the island lifestyle with the world, through garments that transmit freshness, energy and the natural richness of the islands.
At the Gran Canaria Swim Week (GCSW), the Canarian firms showed off, and Macaronesia Swim was no exception. With its ‘Paraíso’ collection, the brand reaffirmed its commitment to conscious fashion, offering bikinis and swimming costumes that pay homage to life on the Canary Islands. The fashion show at Expomeloneras showcased an exclusive line for women, featuring vibrant tropical prints and the use of recycled polyester, in line with its philosophy of sustainability.
The star piece of the collection was the ‘Cala’ triquini, a garment that represents the fusion of nature and design. In addition, Macaronesia surprised with asymmetrical cuts, open backs and versatile styles, ideal both for everyday wear and for moments of relaxation on the beach. True to its essence, the brand evokes the contrasts of the archipelago through its garments, in which the influence of the ocean and the exuberant Canarian flora are palpable.
